I took part in Peoples Photography again this year. It’s always a good weekend to meet other photographers and to see a wide variety of photography. The weather wasn’t the best but sure no one went to the event to get a tan. I was helping to organise the event so I spent quite a bit of time walking around and was walkng past one of the gates when I spotted this shot. All I had was my iPhone but I like the effect.

Salvage Boathouse
We are back in Ireland after a month in Newfoundland. A month may seem like a long time but considering we got married in the middle and had family around for a week extra it wasn’t actually that long a holiday. We had 3 days for a long weekend outside of St Johns and revisited the town of Salvage. A beautiful old Atlantic Canada town, we’d been there a few years ago and it was only as we drove on the road that I remembered this little boathouse just outside the town so we had to stop to take some photos. Fortunately it was still there, though not as isolated as it was since someone has built a house just a little further down the coast that I don’t remember being there before.
Last weekend was also Peoples Photography 2011 and I took part again though the short time between arriving home and exhibiting meant I had to display many photos from 2010. The weather wasn’t as nice as last year but I still had a good time and met lots of nice people so weekend was still a success.
Brigus Birdhouse
Brigus
Finally got out and about on Tuesday to take some photos after our wedding. We took a car trip to Brigus close to St Johns to show my family an older community in Newfoundland. This dock stood out when I got out of the car. While playing around in Lightroom I desaturated everything and just kept the red dock in color.
Dublin Zombie Walk
Lavender
We were down in Clonmel last weekend and visited a shopping center outside the town which appears to have planted lavender flowers (these are lavender aren’t they?) all around the car park and on the dividers between rows of spaces. When in full flower it made a drab car park much nicer with a sea of colour, maybe some other car parks especially around where I live in Dublin could follow their lead.
