The Christmas lights are down on Grafton St but some of the side streets off Grafton still have lights up and my favorite every year have to be the lights on Johnson’s Court. The lane has several nice jewelery shops on it plus a little church on the right. It’s completely different from the Grafton St hopefully it will keep some of its character but I fear the shops on it may suffer and close in the recession while international chains move in around the corner.

Espresso, the elixir of life during the first week back to work after Christmas. Also the first photo I’ve posted here from the Hipstamatic app on my iPhone. I’m really starting to like that app.
Bus Sunrise
Stunning red sunrise outside the bus window this morning on my way to work. 5 minutes later I was off the bus but the light had changed completely. Red sky in morning, shepherds warning.
Snow Time
It seems every photographer in Ireland got to spend hours and hours taking photos in the show apart from me. All I managed in the two weeks of snow were some iPhone pics. Still I’m told there is another arctic freeze on the way later this week so maybe I’ll get my camera out this time.
Ice
This was the view from inside my car this morning before the drive to work. Fortunately we had bought an ice scraper at the weekend so we were on the road in a short amount of time. Winter is certainly here now.
Red Umbrella
Near my apartment there is a little lane-way towards the shops, beside the path has become a little overgrown, nothing awful just weeds and grass covering the back of the tennis courts. At some stage someone must have lost control of their red umbrella in the wind and either it broke or they lost it but either way it ended up discarded in the grass. It was a perfect picture, I didnt have to move anything or position anything, as you see it is as I found it. I edited it on the iPhone again and would have uploaded it straight from there but the WordPress app seems to be enlarging files to 3 times their size and making all the pictures square so for the moment I’ll have to upload from my laptop.
