Where am I?

I realize that I’ve gone quiet on the site lately. Don’t worry I’m still here, well that’s to say I’m still around. Work is taking me away from photography for a while. I’ve been traveling on business lots and unfortunately I don’t have the time to take new photos. But there is light at the end of the tunnel we just need a new office in Dublin and  I hope to get back to my camera some weekend soon.

Welcome

Welcome to my new website and blog. I’ve set this up as I prepare to take part in the Peoples Photography 2008 in Dublin. I’m an amateur photographer and take photographs mostly for myself but also for my friends and family to see.

I live in Dublin, Ireland and like almost everyone else I’ve been taking photographs for years, usually with small point and click cameras. My friends always told me that I should do a photography course so 3 years ago I signed up for a Black & White processing course and bought my first SLR camera, a simple and cheap Sigma film SLR. 18 months ago it was time to enter the modern era so I bought a Canon 350D DSLR and entered the world of hobby photography.

I still have lots to learn, I’m not the best photographer in the world, I’m not even as good as I hope to be. Hopefully in future years I will continue to take part in the Peoples Photography and each year my photographs will show improvement.
