Here’s a quick photo of the star on Cabot Tower up on Signal Hill with the New Years fireworks from Quidi Vidi beside it. I took this with a new tripod I got for Christmas which is lighter and more portable. The old one was a good quality sturdy tripod but too awkward to carry around when I was walking. A smaller one might not be as sturdy but I’ll use it more now I can bring it with me. It’s something I needed for my landscape photos and I’m hoping to get more night and long exposure photos as well.
On top of that I recently replaced my water damaged Sigma 18-200 with a new Sigma 18-250. It might not be the best quality lens in my bag but it’s useful to have a lens with that flexibility.
