Fruit Market

The Moore St fruit market. The original photo is full of color but I’m in a black and white mode at the moment and I converted it and liked the result. On Saturday we walked through the market and when we got home I decided to take out this old photo. The fruit and veg looked much better than the awful packaged stuff we normally buy in the supermarket. We promised ourselves that some day soon we’ll go shopping in the fruit markets in town.

Coffee Bean

Coffee beans in a coffee stall in the Temple Bar food market. I think the stall is called Ariosa and they make one of the nicest cups of coffee in Dublin city center. The market is on every Saturday and well worth a visit.

Court Sunset

Sunset and the Four Courts. Going through some old photos I had put into a collection for further work I found a photo of the Four Courts that at the time I liked. Looking at it tonight I thought it wasn’t so nice but I still wanted a photo of the Four Courts so I went through the shots I rejected and found this one which I liked more.

Snow House

Yes, yet another snow photo. The last time I was taking photos there was snow on the ground so those are the photos I’m processing 🙂 Also I do realize that everyone in Ireland has about 2000 snow photos after the first few weeks of 2010 but I still think they are interesting, we so rarely get snow in Ireland. This is the nice old house in the corner of St Stephens Green. I’m not sure who lives there and I’m not sure I really want to know. The house is a nice old building backed by new not so nice buildings so I think it deserves mention on it’s own regardless of it’s occupants.

Snow Bench

Here is another photo from the recent cold snap in Dublin. This time a photo from St Stephens Green. Travel with work is eating into my photo time but I just got a Canon Powershot SD1200 IS as a birthday present so I plan to take that with me on my travels so I’ll have some new photos to display.

I’d love to be able to carry my DSLR but airline baggage restrictions just dont allow me to carry what I need for work and still fit the DSLR. But as people say, the best camera to take a photo with is the one you have with you so the powershot will be a great addition to my kit.

Once I get to use the camera in anger I might post a review here but so far I’m well pleased. I’ve never really liked small point and click cameras but this one seems a huge leap forward from the old Olympus I had 3 years ago.

Winter Statue

So after those late autumn photos it’s time for winter. Normally you don’t get much more winter in Ireland than a bare trees, winter coats, and the odd husky dog (probably feeling very warm). Though right now the snow is falling so hopefully I’ll get some nice photos over the next couple of days.
