Fire

Last weekend I went to the annual Street Performance World Championship in Merrion Sq. A weekend of street performers from around the world competing for votes, and of course cash from the audience. One of the stages was in front of Government Buildings and I was there watching Dr Kaboom set off fireballs within sight of the Taoiseachs office. I bet when Cowen dreams of fireballs outside his office he doesn’t picture the Gardai standing by and applauding, at least not yet.

Marathon Water Bottles

I finally got out to take some photos over the June bank holiday weekend. The Bloom Festival, the Maritime Festival and the Dublin Flora Womens Mini Marathon. Despite the rain there was a huge supply of bottled water waiting for the finishers.

Color Canal

People seem to prefer the color version of the canal photo so I thought I’d post that as well. Actually looking at it now it doesnt look as bad as when I had been processing it. Maybe it’s always best to take some time away from a photo before making a final decision on it.

Back to Black (and White)

A photo from last weekend. There was some boating festival on the canal in Dublin so I took some photos from Baggot St Bridge. They didn’t turn out too well in color but this one looked much better in black and white so I thought I’d post another B&W photo after a batch of color.

Customs House

Another long exposure, 30 seconds at f14 and 10mm with the ND110 filter, it managed to remove the constant flow of traffic on the quays. A quick edit in Lightroom to fix the colour and brightness then a crop to make it a panoramic.

Colour

Another St Patricks Day photo but unfortunately I don’t have any newer ones yet. Also lets face facts my blog needs a bit of colour in it and nothing in my Lightroom catalogue is as colourful as this. I’m not sure which group this girl was in but it was easily one of the more interesting with with huge costumes and bright colours.
