I’ve been quiet here lately but I’ve been in the middle of a move to Newfoundland in Canada so I think I’ve got a good excuse this time. My wife is from St John’s and we decided to give life in her home town a go for a few years anyway. We want to build a life here but if things don’t work out we know we could return to Ireland.
We are just about set up here now, at least in our temporary place until we get jobs and can get a house of our own. We still need to get a car as well but that can wait for the moment.
At the weekend we rented a car and went with some friends out to Burin which is 4 hours away from St John’s. It was a foggy weekend so that gave me the opportunity to try out some long exposure shots. Newfoundlanders seem to hate the fog but it’s still new to me so I think it could add real atmosphere to photos. I still need to practice and learn but I do like this style of photography so I’m going to give it some time and try to take more photos around the province.
